In the summer of 2016, a group of mountain bikers were discussing the ideal GPS sports watch for runners and mountain bikers while hitting the trails at Mt. Tam in Marin County, California. It was agreed that a sports watch should simultaneously play music, track workouts and connect on cellular network for safety and social networking.
Speeding down Old Railroad Grade trail from Mt. Tam to Mill Valley, the mountain bikers were warning hikers by shouting "Watch out...WATCH OUT!". At the bottom of the 7 mile hill, the name of a new sports watch company had been created.
The watshout customer is an active person doing outdoor activities in any weather, any time of the year, at any time of the day in any terrain. The Norwegian moose, "the king of the forest" that is constantly moving, represents the energy of watshout and its customers.
